40 Days for Life - Archdiocese of New York

What is 40 Days for Life?

Prayer is vital in bringing about an end to abortion. With thousands of campaigns happening around the world, people unite in concentrating their prayer and fasting to seek God’s favor to turn hearts and minds from a culture of death to a culture of life, thus bringing an end to abortion. During the 40 days, there is peaceful witness at a local abortion provider. Participants are encouraged to sign up for however much time they can commit to prayerful activism.

Each campaign has a page within the 40 Days for Life website, and the New York campaigns can be found there as well.

The Archdiocese of New York is blessed to have several 40 Days for Life campaigns at local abortion clinics throughout the archdiocese.

Next Campaign: March 5 – April 13

Your prayers are needed. Prayerful presence outside of abortion clinics is truly essential. Your prayers offer hope to women in crisis and save the lives of the vulnerable unborn. 40 Days for Life is a life-saving prayer campaign that will take place throughout our Archdiocese starting on March 5 and concluding April 13. 40 Days for Life is a peaceful initiative consisting of 40 days of prayer and fasting, peaceful vigil at abortion facilities, and educational outreach with the goal of protecting mothers and their children from abortion. Opening Events

Manhattan Campaigns Opening Mass

Tuesday, March 4th at 7pm (Spanish Mass) St Brigid’s-St Emeric’s, followed by a Shrove Tuesday pancake party.

White Plains Kick-Off Rally

Saturday, March 8th at 10am, Public right-of-way outside of the Planned Parenthood at 175 Tarrytown Rd, White Plains, NY. Parking available along Prospect Ave or in Greenburgh Town Court parking lot across Tarrytown Road.

Newburgh & Goshen Kick-Off Rally

Sunday, March 2nd, 3:00 pm Mass(main church) at Most Precious Blood Parish, 42 Walnut Street, Walden. Mass will be followed by a 4:00pm kickoff event with speakers and refreshments in the Father Sullivan Hall (lower church).
