With a unique sound forged in his Memphis, TN gospel roots, Whalum has more than 25 solo albums and has performed with top artists like Barbara Streisand, Luthor Vandross and, most notably, Whitney Houston (his saxophone solo is featured in Houston’s mega hit “I Will Always Love You”). He is also an ordained minister and a recent convert to Catholicism.
