    Join us for a talk by Alexis Tracey & Ed Mechmann of the Public Policy Center for the Archdiocese of New York in a joint event with Discussion & Discipleship for “IVF & Catholic Teaching.” What does the Catholic Church have to say in regard to using IVF to have a family? What is the harm in using IVF to conceive a child?

    All these questions and more will be discussed and answered. Discussion & Discipleship is a collaborative group where participants come together to examine controversial issues of politics culture science law theology and philosophy all from a catholic point of view.

    Talk begins at 7 PM with first Friday Mass & Confessions at 5:10 followed by a holy hour and fellowship at 6:30 PM for those attending the talk. Come for all or part of the evening. Pizza and refreshments will be served.

    Join us for Latin Pontifical Vespers by candlelight for the Feast of the Presentation of Our Lord and the Purification of the Virgin Mary, also known as Candlemas, on Friday, February 2nd, at 7pm, at the Basilica of St. Patrick’s Old Cathedral. Vespers will be celebrated by Bishop John O’Hara with the assistance of the Basilica Schola and Chamber Orchestra with settings by Antonio Vivaldi and will conclude with a sermon and Benediction.     Witness for Life: Manhattan

    Join the Witness for Life for 8:00 a.m. Mass at the Basilica of St. Patrick’s Old Cathedral, followed by exposition of the Blessed Sacrament, silent Adoration, Rosary Procession and a prayer vigil at the nearby Planned Parenthood abortion clinic. At 10:15am, participants return to Church for Benediction, followed by a social. Through our peaceful and prayerful witness, we bring the light of Christ to the modern-day Calvary that is the abortion clinic.
