    Divine Mercy - First Friday All Night Vigil

    Please join us for a Divine Mercy All Night Vigil on First Friday April 5th 2024. The evening will start with confessions at 8:00 PM followed by the Holy Mass at 9:00 followed by a discussion on Divine Mercy and the Most Holy Eucharist, followed by exposition of the Most Holy Eucharist. Special Prayers, Litanies, St. Faustina Stations of the Cross, Scriptural Rosaries, Sung Chaplets, Hymns will be prayed throughout the night. There will be FREE refreshments at Midnight and at 3:30 AM and then we end with a 5:00 AM Closing Holy Mass. The event will take place at Our Lady Good of Counsel Church at 230 East 90th Street between 2nd and 3rd Avenues.

    Join the Witness for Life for 8:00 a.m. Mass at the Basilica of St. Patrick’s Old Cathedral, followed by exposition of the Blessed Sacrament, silent Adoration, Rosary Procession and a prayer vigil at the nearby Planned Parenthood abortion clinic. At 10:15am, participants return to Church for Benediction, followed by a social. Through our peaceful and prayerful witness, we bring the light of Christ to the modern-day Calvary that is the abortion clinic.

    Let It Begin With Trees
    In honor of Earth Day and Arbor Day, the Laudato Si Circle at the Church of St. Francis of Assisi is hosting a community-wide event.

    Saturday, April 27th 10am – 1pm
    St. Francis House – Clare Room
    135 West 31st Street

    Come learn about the social, emotional, and environmental benefits that our NYC trees provide and how to care for the trees in your neighborhood.

    This event will be both indoors and outdoors. First, we will gather for a presentation about how to care for trees in our neighborhoods. After the talk we will head outside in teams to get hands-on experience by taking care of trees right on this block.

    We will provide coffee, work gloves, shovels, and essential items for the street tree cleanup but we would encourage you to bring your own gloves and tools if you have them.

    This event will be held rain or shine, so dress appropriately, comfortably, and be prepared to get a little dirty.

    It’s FREE and open to all but will be limited to 50 people so advance registration is required. Registration will close when we reach capacity or at the end of day Tuesday, April 23, 2024.
