  • Relics of St. Thomas Aquinas

    Relics of St. Thomas Aquinas

The skull of St. Thomas Aquinas, O.P., a major relic of our beloved Dominican saint, will be stopping at our two churches on Friday-Sunday, December 13-15. This is a very special grace for our Parish and our city, and it comes in the context of the Triple Jubilee of St. Thomas. We hope you can make it!

The triple Jubilee of St. Thomas Aquinas, which ends on January 28, 2025, also comes with the special grace of a plenary indulgence. It can be obtained by making a pilgrimage to a holy site connected to the Dominican Order to either take part in the jubilee celebrations or “at least devote a suitable time to pious recollection.” Please visit our parish website, svsc.info, to learn more!

    The schedule is as follows:

    • Friday, December 13, 6:30 – 8:30 PM, at St. Catherine’s
    • Saturday, December 14, 7 PM – Sunday, December 15, 7:30 AM, at St. Vincent’s
    • Sunday, December 15, 1 – 2 PM, at St. Vincent’s

Mystagogy: Biblical Conversations With God: As a Person Speaks to A Friend

This fall’s Mystagogy series will consider some of the numerous dialogues God had with His people in the Scriptures. From Adam and Eve to Moses and the Prophets, to the Gospels, where practically every interaction is a conversation with God, the Word made flesh. Guided by Fr. Francis, these interactions will lead us to ponder the meaning of prayer, a right understanding of God and ourselves, the history of salvation, and key themes of Biblical interpretation.

This group meets on Tuesdays at 6:45 in the Lower Church at St. Vincent’s. The topic on December 17th is “The Two Blind Rebels (Matthew 20:29-34).”
