What is New York Catholic Youth Day (NYCYD)?
NYCYD is an annual gathering of young people from across the Archdiocese of New York to celebrate our Catholic faith through prayer, music, talks, breakout sessions, and community. It is organized by the Office of Youth Ministry & Young Adult Ministry & the University Apostolate of the Archdiocese of New York. There are two days (High School on Saturday and Middle School on Sunday. This year’s NYCYD is part of the global Jubilee Year, with the theme: “Taking Action as Pilgrims of Hope.”
When and where is NYCYD 2025?
High School Day (Grades 9–12): Saturday, September 27, 2025
Middle School Day (Grades 6–8): Sunday, September 28, 2025

Who can attend?
High School Day: Open to students in grades 9–12.
Middle School Day: Open to students in grades 6–8.

Only parish and school groups can attend youth day. Please contact your local parish or school group to find out how you can join them.
What is this year’s theme? What workshops will be included?
The 2025 theme is “Taking Action as Pilgrims of Hope”, inspired by the Jubilee Year of Hope. Teens will be invited to encounter God’s mercy, grow in hope, and take action in their lives of faith. Key moments of the day include:

High School Day (Sept. 27):

Confession:
- Confession stations will open at 10:30 AM and remain available all day near the main tent
What is included in the day?
The day is designed as a joyful pilgrimage experience with:
- Registration and parish check-in (8:30 AM)
- High-energy kickoff and theme introduction (9:30 AM)
- Keynote talks, breakout sessions, and faith-based workshops
- Celebration of Holy Mass
- Sacrament of Confession available all day
- Lunch
- Outdoor games and community-building activities
- Eucharistic Adoration with the Holy Rosary
- Final Commissioning & Sending with the Holy Spirit
- Dismissal at 5:30 PM

How do we register?
Group leaders register online on behalf of their parish/school.
Registration is open and closes on September 19, 2025.
Is there a cost?
Yes. Registration Fee: $45 (register before September 23, 2025)
The registration fee includes lunch, activities, and an event T-shirt.
Can I register high school students on the middle school day, or middle school students on the high school day?
No. Each day is specifically designed for its age group, with workshops and discussions geared toward that developmental level. Teens can only attend on the day appropriate to their grade level.
What should participants bring?
- Comfortable shoes for walking across campus
- Weather-appropriate clothing (portions of the event are outdoors)
- A reusable water bottle
- An open heart ready to encounter Christ
How do I get there? Is parking available?
- Buses should drop off and park as directed by volunteers.
- Free on-site parking is available for cars.
Shuttle service from Woodlawn train station in the Bronx (4 train line) will be available at 7:30 AM, 8:30 AM, and 9:30 AM, with return shuttles at 5:30 PM, 6:30 PM, and 7:30 PM. Register for a shuttle here.
Are volunteers needed?
Absolutely! Volunteers are an essential part of NY Catholic Youth Day. If you’re interested, apply here. Adult volunteers must comply with Archdiocesan Safe Environment policies, which include completing:
- Background check form I Spanish
- Online Safer Spaces training
- If you have not completed this training before, you can create a free account (it takes 45 minutes to complete the online training).
The completed background check and Safe Environment online certificate of completion must be submitted to your local church/parish.
I’m a priest. How can I register to assist?
Priests are warmly invited to participate in NYCYD by:
- Hearing Confessions
- Concelebrating Holy Mass
