    In the midst of the hustle and bustle of Christmas preparations, spend some time with the One whose coming we are awaiting. Pondering the “why” of this busy time can make the “what” of our holiday tasks take on a richer and deeper meaning. Presented by Sr. Marita Funke. Retreatants have the option of staying Friday night at the monastery if needed for an additional cost. The retreat will be preached on Saturday only.     CYLA Youth Leadership Summit

    Catholic Youth Leaders of the Archdiocese (CYLA) Youth Leadership Summits are coming to a region near you! Open to students in grades 8-12 who want to make a difference in their parish, these CYLA Youth Leadership Summits empower and connect the young Church of New York. Five CYLA Summits will be held in different regions of the archdiocese; each is peer-led by teens on the CYLA Youth Leadership Team.  Students must receive a recommendation from a parish leader (youth ministry leader, D/CRE, or pastor). No prior leadership experience or assigned roles is necessary. We hope to give voice to, inspire, and train a new generation of young Catholic leaders! Click here to sign up!

    On Saturday, December 14, 12 NOON to 3 PM, in St. Catherine of Siena’s church (411 E. 68th Street) of the Parish of St. Vincent Ferrer and St. Catherine of Siena, we’ll continue our Midday Retreat with the Mystics.

    Fr. Ignatius John Schweitzer, OP, will give a conference talk and guided meditations in the context of Eucharistic Adoration and some silence. Q&A and a social with light refreshments will follow, along with an opportunity to be anointed with St. Dominic oil. All are most welcome!
