Brother Bede Maxson, O.S.B., a native of New Windsor, was one of three Benedictine monks to profess first vows July 10 at St. Vincent Archabbey in Latrobe, Pa.

A 2016 graduate of Cornwall High School, Brother Maxson is the oldest of seven children of Jeff and Danielle Maxson. He earned a bachelor’s degree in aerospace administration and operations from Oklahoma State University, Stillwater, Okla., and a master’s degree in Catholic philosophical studies from St. Joseph’s Seminary, Dunwoodie.

Brother Maxson was a novice this past year and now will spend three years discerning his vocation before professing final vows.

Brother Maxson grew up in New Windsor and is a graduate of Cornwall High School.
