Our mission at the Archdiocese of New York is to live and proclaim the Gospel of Jesus Christ—responding to the spiritual and material needs of people in our local communities and throughout the world, today and in the future.
Welcome—We're Glad You're Here
Whether you are new to your neighborhood, returning to your Catholic faith, or seeking to deepen your relationship with Jesus Christ, the Archdiocese of New York is here to accompany you. We serve individuals and families across Manhattan, the Bronx, Staten Island, and the seven counties that make up Catholic New York—Dutchess, Orange, Putnam, Rockland, Sullivan, Ulster, and Westchester.
A Diverse Catholic Community Across New York
From urban parishes in New York City, to suburban faith communities in Westchester and Rockland, to rural churches in Dutchess and Sullivan counties, the archdiocese reflects the full diversity of Catholic life in the region. This broad geographic reach shapes how we worship, serve, and support one another as disciples of Christ.
Serving 2.5 Million Catholics Across the Region
The Archdiocese of New York provides pastoral and spiritual care to 2.5 million Catholics in nearly 300 parishes from the heart of Saint Patrick’s Cathedral in Manhattan to mission-driven parish communities throughout the Hudson Valley. Our ministries form, educate, and accompany the faithful at every stage of life—united in mission and strengthened through United in Faith, our initiative to support parish life, clergy, and lay engagement.
