About Us
The Metropolitan Tribunal is the Ecclesiastical Court of the Archdiocese of New York and is charged with the administration of justice, as a court of first instance and as an appellate court, for matters of the public good brought before the Church. Although most cases brought before the Tribunal involve questions of marital nullity, the court also acts as the competent forum for other issues, including penal matters.
Office hours: Monday to Friday, 9 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. Closed Saturday and Sunday.

There is a $100 application fee to be paid when an application for a Declaration of Nullity is submitted.
Effective November 1, 2023, there is a $900 administrative fee to be paid in addition to the $100 application fee. The timeline for payment of this fee can be found in the application.

Please Note: The Petition for a Declaration of Invalidity due to Lack of Form must be filled out with your parish priest, who will then mail it to the Metropolitan Tribunal.
