The following is a statement from His Eminence, Edward Cardinal Egan, on the sentencing today of Reverend Monsignor John Woolsey.

"Today’s sentencing of Monsignor John Woolsey marks the end of a sad and  painful period for the Parish of Saint John the Martyr, the Archdiocese of New York, and Monsignor Woolsey as well.  We pray that it also marks a new beginning for all who may have been hurt by or involved with this matter.  With God’s grace may there now be reconciliation and healing."
