Maternity Homes
Maternity homes are supportive living environments or “homes” for pregnant women that are more or less structured with programs. Pregnant women generally live here (with or without other children) for a specified amount of time.

18 and older. No other children in residence. A Christ-centered supportive residence with a very structured program to help mothers achieve their goals. Residents stay at least 3 months post-partum and may apply to stay longer if the program is working well.

Other Maternity Homes may be available through placement with the EAU (Emergency Assistance Unit – Family Shelter) – The EAU is the city family intake center that determines the need for shelter and the best course of action and then places women.

AMT Children of Hope Foundation/Safe Haven Program

A Safe Haven is a designated public place, such as a hospital, firehouse, EMS station or police precinct when a baby can be left, in a safe condition, so that it may be permanently cared for. A Safe Haven will accept an infant from a birth mother, get the infant medical care as needed, and place the infant in the adoption process.

Adverse Prenatal Diagnosis
An adverse prenatal diagnosis often leaves expecting parents concerned and facing questions and mounting pressure by hospitals or physicians. In spite of that, there are resources and networks of support that assist during this challenging time in a pregnancy.
Perinatal Hospice Care
Are you faced with a severe or fatal prenatal diagnosis?
What if there was a medical team that worked hard to allow you and your baby to enjoy every precious moment together in a loving environment?
The Neonatal Comfort Care Program at Columbia University utilizes a multidisciplinary team to address the complex needs of infants and their families. The team includes a nurse coordinator, social worker, speech pathologist, child life specialist, psychologist, and chaplaincy, who all work together to create comfort for babies in a compassionate, loving environment.

BeNotAfraid.net is an online outreach to parents who have received a poor or difficult prenatal diagnosis. The family stories, articles, and links within the site are presented as a resource for those who may have been asked to choose between terminating a pregnancy or continuing on despite the diagnosis.
