Robert Ellsberg, Editor-in-Chief of Orbis Books and author of the critically acclaimed Blessed Among Us: Day by Day with Saintly Witnesses, returns to the Sheen Center on Thursday, June 29 at 7:30 p.m. for the second installment in the ongoing series "My Favorite Saints" which examines the lives of holy men and women throughout the ages and translates their journey in terms accessible to the spiritual seekers of today. Ellsberg's presentation will span centuries and cultures to bring to the audience the lived expressions of the Gospel and the legacy of works that arises from its distinct spirituality

The discussion will explore the witness of such renowned figures as Blessed Oscar Romero, martyr and indefatigable advocate for the poor of El Salvador; Julian of Norwich, anchoress, mystic, and fourteenth century theologian in England; St. Maria Skobtsova and Blessed Franz Jägerstätter, martyrs and conscientious objectors of the Second World War; and St. Francis of Assisi, whose embodiment of the Gospel ideal resonates across centuries and categorically informs the environmental ethics of Catholics today through the papacy of Pope Francis. All are invited to explore the humble path of these spiritual giants with Robert Ellsberg next Thursday evening. Space is limited, so early registration is encouraged.

Tickets are $15 and available online at https://sheencenter.org/shows/ellsberg2/, or by calling 212-925-2812
