Friday, March 3 and Saturday, March 4 | Ministerial Formation Days: Parents as Partners | Youth Faith Formation Office

The Aquinas Center at Blessed Sacrament, New Rochelle

Our keynote presenter, Dr. John Rinaldo, will help us look at rejuvenating our ministries with the modern family in mind. We all know the saying: “Parents are the primary educators of the faith.” How are our parents doing with that responsibility? Successful ministry requires that parents become the center of our formation efforts. But not as the object of our formation, but as the chief formator themselves. During our time together, we will explore the complexity of the modern family and how we can practically and concretely rejuvenate our ministry efforts with families.

Each day is structured for a different audience; however, you are free to attend the day most convenient for you. Friday is structured for pastors, parochial vicars, full-time directors/coordinators of religious education, and full-time youth ministry coordinators.

Saturday is targeted to part-time and/or volunteer directors/coordinators of religious education, and youth ministry coordinators or youth ministry adult teams.

Sunday, April 16 | Confirmation for Young People with Disabilities | Youth Faith Formation Office

April 16, 2023 at 10:15 am | St. Patrick’s Cathedral

The Sacrament of Confirmation will be administered to a group of young persons with disabilities on April 16, 2023, at the 10:15 A.M. Mass at St. Patrick’s Cathedral. Although it is usually recommended persons with disabilities be integrated into their parish ceremonies, this is a special opportunity for the Archdiocese to recognize in a particular way young people with special needs.

For all present in the Cathedral, it is a reminder of the unique gift each individual is in the Church community. The Guidelines for the Celebration of the Sacraments with Persons with Disabilities (paragraph 6) encourages us to bring all baptized persons to the Sacrament of Confirmation. It is truly a joy for these young people and their families to partake in this celebration.
