School is back in session! On Wednesday, September 8th, Catholic schools in the Archdiocese of New York welcomed students back to the classroom for a new academic year of fully in-person instruction. In an interview segment with EWTN News In Depth, Superintendent of Schools Michael J. Deegan discussed the optimistic future of Catholic schools in the state of New York. “ADNY Catholic Schools look forward to working with our new Governor @GovKathyHochul to ensure our children receive all government funds and services they are legally entitled to get,” Mr. Deegan tweeted​. This follows an earlier op-ed for the New York Post, where Superintendent of Schools Michael J. Deegan advocated for Catholic and other nongovernmental schools to receive the critical COVID relief funding that was authorized months ago. Read the New York Post article here

Schools: Catholic Schools Are Open: We Continue to Soar!

A recent article by Harlem World explores the “Catholic Schools Are Open: We Continue to Soar!” guide released as part of the 2021 Schools Opening Plan. Superintendent of Schools Michael J. Deegan is quoted as saying “I’m grateful to the Catholic Schools Re-Opening Advisory Council for their work in updating the manual and to the principals and teachers who will implement it so we may maintain the same bubble of protection for our students and staff that we created over 18 months ago.” Read the Harlem World article here.
