Adult Faith Formation: Man Up New York

I would like to share with you some information about our upcoming men’s conference, Man Up New York, Manning up in the face of adversity. St. Joseph-Model of True Manhood. It will be a day of fellowship, spiritual enrichment, and practical insights on how to live out our faith during this time of adversity. We will be joined by His Eminence Timothy Cardinal Dolan, Fr. Don Calloway, Mike Piazza, and Dr. Greg Bottaro!

  • When: Saturday, October 23rd, 2021
  • Where: St. Joseph’s Seminary, Yonkers 

Join us with your men’s group. We also have follow-up resources for your men’s group. 

We would greatly appreciate your assistance with hearing confessions from 12pm-1:30 pm. There is no cost for clergy, but registration is required.

Development: Landmark Restoration Campaign

Cardinal Dolan and the Trustees of St. Patrick’s Cathedral have led the extraordinary Landmark Restoration over the past several years to preserve “America’s parish church.” Thanks to the altruism of thousands of benefactors – including individual donors, corporations, foundations, and clergy – our restored St. Patrick’s Cathedral will endure as a sanctuary of Catholicism, charity, and culture for generations to come.

Family Life: Prepare/Enrich Facilitator Training for Clergy

The Family Life Office will be conducting a training for Clergy on the Prepare/Enrich (PE) [pre]marital relationship inventory tool. This training will focus on the mechanics of PE and is designed to help clergy administer the PE tool and use the tangible feedback about a couple’s relationship in areas such as communication, conflict resolution and spiritual beliefs. Additionally, this training will familiarize you with the Catholic Couple Checkup inventory.

The training workshop is scheduled at St. Joseph’s Seminary:

Respect Life: Respect Life Week Curriculum

Education on the sanctity of human life is of critical importance. Consider implementing the Respect Life Week curriculum in your school and/or CCD program. The curriculum is available for free online with lesson plans on a wide-range of life issues including abortion, assisted suicide, immigration, and marriage. The material is presented at an age-appropriate level for all grades (PK-12). You can access the curriculum on the Respect Life Office website.

Respect Life: 40 Days for Life

40 Days for Life is a life-saving prayer campaign that will take place throughout our Archdiocese starting on September 22nd and concluding October 31st. 40 Days for Life is a peaceful initiative consisting of 40 days of prayer and fasting, peaceful vigil at abortion facilities, and educational outreach with the goal of protecting mothers and their children from abortion. More than 18,000 unborn children have been saved from abortion during 40 Days for Life campaigns.  To learn more about the 40 Days for Life campaign, visit:  www.40daysforlife.com

Participants in this Forum on the Catechumenate for Christian Initiation Ministers will deepen their understanding of the Church’s vision of the baptismal catechumenate as outlined in Part II.1 of the RCIA ritual text.

Youth Faith Formation: Youth Faith Formation Updates

We are happy to welcome Tom Brinkmann and Jennifer Annuziata to the Youth Faith Formation staff. Jennifer has spent the last several years supporting parishes in Rockland and NWP as the administrative assistant to its regional catechetical coordinator. She is now serving as the project coordinator for the department. Tom Brinkmann joins us after spending 18 years with Capuchin Youth and Family Ministries. Tom will support parish ministry from baptism to twelfth grad as the regional youth faith formation specialist for Dutchess, Putnam, and Northern Westchester.

Youth Faith Formation: New Regions

As part of the restructuring of the Department of Youth Faith Formation, we have created a new regional structure to be able to provide a more personal consultation and support system for parish faith formation from baptism to twelfth grade. Each regional specialist (formerly director) will be the single point of contact for the parish in these areas in order to help foster seamless experiences of faith formation for parents and young people as they grow in their love of Christ and the Church. Youth Faith Formation: Forum for Catechesis 2021

We are looking forward to hosting the Forums for Catechesis and Youth Ministry in person this fall! The Forums are great opportunities for learning and sharing for those ministering to and with our children and youth. They will be held on October 16, 2021 at Cardinal Spellman High School in the Bronx and October 23, 2021 at Burke High School in Goshen. For more information or to register please go here.
