Family Life: Recovery Sunday
As you may recall, “Recovery Sunday” is a national day of prayer during the month of September for those suffering from addictions. Cardinal O’Connor first instituted “Recovery Sunday” in 1999 in the parishes of the Archdiocese of New York, designating a weekend in September to pray for those with addictions and their families at the Sunday Masses. Cardinal Egan continued the observance of “Recovery Sunday,” and in 2016 Cardinal Dolan reintroduced the tradition of “Recovery Sunday” in our Archdiocese.
Family Life: Prepare/Enrich Facilitator Training
The Family Life Office will be conducting a 2-hour refresher training for Clergy on the Prepare/Enrich (PE) [pre]marital relationship inventory tool. This training is for all Clergy PE facilitators who want a “refresher” on the mechanics of PE. It’s designed to help clergy administer the PE tool and use the tangible feedback about a couple’s relationship in areas such as communication, conflict resolution and spiritual beliefs. Additionally, this training will familiarize you with the Catholic Couple Checkup inventory.
The two upcoming refresher training workshops will be virtual via Zoom:
- August 17th, 2021 from 2:00 pm – 4:00 pm
- August 25th, 2021from 10:30 am – 12:30 pm
To find out more or to register, please call or email Suzanne Hammill at (646) 794-3183 or Suzanne.Hammill@archny.org.
Marketing: Back to Mass Campaign
We’re a few weeks into our Back to Mass campaign and have been getting great response. Our Facebook Frame has over 200 uses. We are starting the promotion of our Why I’m Going Back to Mass blog series this week, which will take us through the end of July. We’ve also been running social media advertising. The ads have been seen over 58,000 times with over 500 clicks on the ad.
Next week we’ll be launching a sub-campaign encouraging parishioners to take photos of themselves returning to in-person Mass. Be on the lookout to share social media posts from the Archdiocese of New York accounts with more details.
