Thank you for your ongoing efforts to encourage your parishioners to complete the 2020 Census. 

You may already be aware that the deadline to complete the Census was recently changed to September 30th. With the new deadline now only a few weeks away, please continue to encourage your parishioners to complete the form.  A simple bulletin announcement is below.

Catholic Schools Ready to Follow ‘Blueprint’ to Safely Reopen Next Month (Via Catholic New York): Superintendent of Schools Michael J. Deegan was interviewed by the editor in chief of Catholic New York, John Woods, to speak about everything from the “blueprint” which the Catholic Schools in the Archdiocese of New York will follow for a safe opening this September, and which covers everything from technology, to finances and political advocacy.

Archdiocese Plans Covid-19 Train Program Before Schools Reopen (Via Catholic New York): The Catholic Schools in the Archdiocese of New York have developed a program to train administrators, teachers and support staff with Covid-19 precaution knowledge. “We want to make sure that our faculties and our school personnel are completely trained and prepared to welcome back our children in September,” Michael Deegan, superintendent of schools for the archdiocese, told Catholic New York. Schools: BACK TO SCHOOL!

On September 8th and 9th, the Catholic Schools in the Archdiocese of New York welcomed back students for in-person learning.

Yorktown Heights Catholic School opens for some in-person learning: News 12 Westchester was on the scene at St. Patrick’s School in Yorktown to capture the reunion of teachers and students for the first day of school. Like most private Catholic schools in the state, St. Patrick’s Elementary in Yorktown Heights is planning to bring some students back for in-person learning five days a week — with 85% of parents saying they will send their children to class according to the schedule set by the school.

Catholic schools in NYC welcome back students on first day of school: Our parents wanted their children back in the classroom and we worked tirelessly to get them back to school, safely. Thanks to ABC7NY for showcasing the safety precautions at Immaculate Conception School on Gun Hill Road in the Bronx early in the morning, before students arrived.
