Family Life: Virtual Emmaus Ministry Retreats for Grieving Parents
In response to the cancellation of most in-person Emmaus retreats, “live online” Emmaus retreats are now being offered that parents can “attend” from a computer, safe in their homes.
The Zoom retreats are very similar to the original, in-person retreats: they include prayer services, a reflection from a spiritual leader, and conversation with other parents. As always, the emphasis will be on the spirituality of the grieving process for parents. To register, and for more information, see the below flyer or email [email protected].

Respect Life: Faithful Citizenship
As the election approaches, cultivating informed consciences among parishioners is important. In their document Forming Consciences for Faithful Citizenship, the US Bishops acknowledge that many Catholics “may feel politically disenfranchised, sensing that no party and few candidates fully share our comprehensive commitment to human life and dignity.” However, while there are many political issues that are important to us as Catholics, the bishops state that “the threat of abortion remains our preeminent priority because it directly attacks life itself.” To help pastors and parishes navigate this election season, the Respect Life Office has collected the below resources.
Respect Life: 40 Days for Life
40 Days for Life is a life-saving prayer campaign that will take place throughout our Archdiocese starting on September 23 and concluding November 1. 40 Days for Life is a peaceful initiative consisting of 40 days of prayer and fasting, peaceful vigil at abortion facilities, and educational outreach with the goal of protecting mothers and their children from abortion. More than 17,000 unborn children have been saved from abortion during 40 Days for Life campaigns. To learn more about the 40 Days for Life campaign, visit: www.40daysforlife.com
