This year, the Appeal theme is Teach – Serve – Sanctify: a theme that is intended to remind parishioners of the fundamental mission of the Church and our shared responsibility to further this mission through our own prayer, service, and financial sacrifice. We are asking all pastors to support the Appeal, which funds the pastoral offices and the operational needs of many parishes who cannot sustain themselves on offertory income alone.

Respect Life: Walking with Moms in Need: A Year of Service

The USCCB is launching a pro-life initiative on March 25, 2020 entitled Walking with Moms in Need: A Year of Service. Cardinal Dolan has designated Sr. Virginia Joy, director of the Respect Life Office, as the coordinator for this initiative in the Archdiocese of New York. We will be sending out a short online survey next month and asking each pastor to complete it so we can best assess the current supports in place for pregnant women in need. Thank you for your cooperation and please pray for this initiative.

Respect Life: End-of-Life Education

Many Catholics are unfamiliar with the Church’s teachings on end-of-life care and the practical resources available to them as they face difficult decisions. It is of critical importance to educate on end-of-life ethics and advance care planning in order to shepherd each person in this sacred time of preparation for eternity.
