Prayer for Life Formation Day

“A great prayer for life is urgently needed, a prayer which will rise up throughout the world.”

Pope St. John Paul II, Evangelium Vitae

Prayer and intercession are essential aspects of building a culture of life, and are ways that we can participate in the Lord’s work of transforming hearts and lives.

Through prayer, we listen to the Holy Spirit and open ourselves to receive a fresh outpouring of His life and love. This receptivity bears fruit in our own lives and in the lives of others.

We invite you to join us for this Prayer for Life Formation Day, which will be an opportunity to come together and be formed in ways to pray for the sake of building up a culture of life. The day will include formation on intercessory prayer, ideas for Holy Hours for Life, and the spirituality of prayer and witness on behalf of life.

You are welcome to come as an individual or with a group from your parish or organization, to be formed in ways to pray together.

Sisters of Life: The Sisters of Life are a contemplative/active community of women religious, who profess the three traditional vows of poverty, chastity, and obedience, and a fourth vow to protect and enhance the sacredness of human life. Their missions include serving women who are vulnerable to abortion, giving them the support and resources to be able to choose life for themselves and their children; hosting weekend retreats; evangelization; outreach to college students; and helping women who have suffered after abortion to encounter the mercy and healing of Jesus Christ. They also serve in the Respect Life Office of the Archdiocese of New York.
