On Saturday, January 30, 2021, from 10:00 to 11:30 a.m., the Catechetical Office will sponsor – this time virtually – its annual day of prayer for Catholics who teach in public schools. Bishop Gerald Walsh, vicar emeritus for clergy, will preside. The event is organized by a committee of Catholic public teachers coordinated by Sr. Zelide Ceccagno, MSCS, regional catechetical director for Central and Southern Westchester. This year’s theme is “Bring Jesus into Your Family Classroom.”

All public school teachers throughout the archdiocese are welcome to register and attend on their tablets, computers or smart phones. To register, email [email protected] and include name, telephone number and email address. Registrants will be sent a code to join the day of prayer. The deadline for registration is Jan. 28.
