(New York, NY) This year’s COLUMBUS DAY MASS will take place on Monday, October 12, 2020 at 9:30 AM at St. Patrick’s Cathedral. The annual Mass celebrates Italian heritage and the unique contribution of Italian Americans to New York City and the country. Timothy Cardinal Dolan, Archbishop of New York, will be the principal celebrant. Gerardo Colacicco, Auxiliary Bishop of New York will offer the homily.

Mass will be concelebrated by Archbishop Gabriele Giordano Caccia, Permanent Observer of the Holy See to the United Nations in New York, Nicholas DiMarzio, Bishop of Brooklyn, Octavio Cisneros, Auxiliary Bishop of Brooklyn, James Massa, Auxiliary Bishop of Brooklyn and Rector of St. Joseph’s Seminary, and Edmund Whalen, Auxiliary Bishop of New York. They will be joined by priests of both dioceses in concelebrating the Mass.

Due to COVID-19 restrictions and in keeping with the established protocols of the Archdiocese of New York, attendance of the Mass will be significantly reduced this year and social distancing measures will be enforced. Face coverings are mandatory for all in attendance.
