It has been a tradition at New York Catholic Youth Day to provide service as an integral component of our day. This year we want you to bring that spirit of service to your local communities. We invite your parish or school to identify groups of young people to BE THE LIGHT by participating in service opportunities in your community. Parishes and schools who participate in this project will automatically be entered to receive a free retreat day, or youth event led by the Office of Youth Ministry Team.
This year the Office of Youth Ministry is offering a hands-on virtual workshop on Zoom for teens to learn about handling the stresses and pressures of life during the pandemic and everyday life. Get more info at the event page by clicking the button below.
You are invited to join the Office of Youth Ministry team to plan regional Holy Hours for our youth. In an effort to continue to support ministry with youth in our parishes and regions, our Regional Coordinators Christopher & Stephen are working with groups and parishes throughout the archdiocese who are currently hosting Holy Hours and opening the space for others to join them on this journey.
If you are interested in hosting a regional Holy Hour in your parish or area, please reach out to us by emailing email@example.com.
In collaboration with Fearless Ministries Retreats, the Office of Youth Ministry will provide youth throughout the archdiocese an in-person opportunity at Graymoor in Garrison, NY to dive deep into the theme of Be the Light in preparation for NYCYD.
What is required of a disciple? Courage. As Blessed Titus Brandsma once said, “Those who want to win the world for Christ must have the courage to come into conflict with it.”
Fearless Retreats are for teens in grades 7-12. Activities include basketball, laser tag, ultimate frisbee, soccer, Mass, praise and worship, Eucharistic Adoration, and talks and testimonies by guests including the Franciscan Friars and Sisters of the Renewal, Presentation Sisters, and other clergy and religious! These retreats bring teens to the foot of the Cross, invite them to sainthood, and set them on fire for Christ in the Eucharist!
New York Catholic Youth Day is taking place May 1, 2021 at St. St. Anthony of Padua Church in the Bronx. It is the culminating youth event of the Be the Light Season where youth from across our 10 regions of the archdiocese are invited to a day of searching, encountering, and sharing the light of Christ with others.
We invite you to join us at New York Catholic Youth Day to explore how God gives hope to our world and to allow ourselves to be an instrument, Christ’s hands and feet, in this world. NYCYD 2021 will have live music, talks and testimonies, confession, praise and worship, Eucharistic Adoration, and a celebration of the Be the Light Season.
