ARCHDIOCESE HIRES NEW ASSISTANT COMMUNICATIONS DIRECTOR
The Archdiocese of New York today announced that Kate Monaghan has been hired as Assistant Director of Communications for the Archdiocese of New York. Miss Monaghan will serve as press secretary and spokesperson for the Archdiocese.
Most recently, Miss Monaghan, 26, was Communications Director for the congressional campaign of Congressman Tom Graves of Georgia, Senior Writer at the Human-rights Education and Relief Organization (H.E.R.O.), a multi-platform campaign and education forum dedicated to promoting human dignity, and English Version Director of the Daily Gospel Online (DGO), a daily liturgy subscription service.
The Office of Communications is the archdiocesan office handling all press and media inquires for the Archbishop of New York and the offices of the Archdiocese. Included in the office are Hispanic Communications and New Media Communications.
Miss Monaghan will report to Joseph Zwilling, the Director of Communications and spokesman for the Archdiocese. Mr. Zwilling also serves as the General Manager/Program Director of The Catholic Channel on Sirius/XM Satellite Radio, and as Associate Publisher of Catholic New York.
Miss Monaghan, a 2007 Phillips Fellow, is a graduate of Thomas More College of Liberal Arts located in Merrimack, NH from which she received a Bachelor’s degree in Philosophy in 2006.
