U.S. PREMIERE OF "NEARY'S" AT THE SHEEN CENTER FOR THOUGHT & CULTURE ON MONDAY, MARCH 13, 2017

Director Neil Leifer's most recent and ambitious documentary film, "Neary's: The Dream at the End of the Rainbow" premiered on Monday, March 13, to a sold out audience at the Sheen Center for Thought & Culture in downtown Manhattan. The premiere was attended by Archbishop of New York Timothy Cardinal Dolan, Michael R. Bloomberg, bestselling author Mary Higgins Clark, and the Irish restaurateur at the center of the film, Jimmy Neary.

The film tells the story of an Irish immigrant and his meteoric ascent in New York's competitive restaurant industry. A true to life rendering of the American dream, Jimmy Neary's iconic restaurant has become the establishment of choice for New York's political, business, and religious leaders in the five decades since its opening. Celebrating the 50th anniversary since Neary's opened its doors, the documentary celebrates the life and legacy of a man whose values, vision, and heritage created a dining culture unlike any other in the city.

The pre-screening reception was held in the Sheen Center's art gallery. It was followed by the premiere screening in the Sheen Center's Loreto Theater. As is customary at Sheen Center screenings, there was a panel discussion with the director after the film, moderated by Neary's daughter and Goldman Sachs Partner, Una Neary. The panel also featured Cardinal Dolan and Jimmy Neary.
