Institutional Commodities Services (ICS): COVID Products

The FEMA-eligibility period for ordering and seeking reimbursement for PPE and other pandemic cleaning-related supplies has been extended. At this writing, the exact end dates are unclear. I want to encourage you to check your supplies and consider reordering items you will need in the foreseeable future. We believe that most, if not all, of the items in this brochure are reimbursable. The reimbursement process is being managed by Al Kelly in the Insurance Division of the Archdiocese. Please contact him at [email protected] if you have not already done so. He is collecting parish and parish based school information for a consolidated reimbursement request. Repeated thanks for your business. We are proud to serve you.

Schools: 2019-2020 Annual Report

We are pleased to share the video presentation of our 2019-2020 Annual Report of Catholic schools in the Archdiocese of New York. This video is a departure from the usual printed text version. The profound COVID-19 narrative of the latter half of the 2019-2020 school year deserved enhanced visuals in order to do the story justice.

Schools: Fox News Report

Please enjoy this wonderful piece on Fox News featuring Cardinal Dolan, Superintendent of Schools, Mr. Michael J. Deegan, Principal Geraldine Lavery and the entire community of the School of the Good Shepherd in Manhattan. While this was produced at Good Shepherd, the narrative that Catholic schools have been successfully and safely open since September, is a testament to all of our schools, their leaders, teachers and families. In other words, this segment – seen nationally – is a statement about our entire school system.

Schools: American Magazine

The month of March is Women’s History Month, and given we also celebrated Catholic Sisters Week in March, the timing could not have been better for this truly lovely article in America Magazine about Sr. Mary Stephen Healey, a remarkable woman who has devoted her life to Catholic education, teaching at Our Lady of Mount Carmel in Elmsford since the 1960s.

Schools: American Rescue Plan Act Thank You

After exhaustive efforts on many fronts, our schools will be receiving some financial relief as part of the American Rescue Plan legislation. This is just the beginning of a larger movement to ensure our students and families are treated equally in the eyes of the government. Please see this Daily News opinion piece by Cardinal Dolan and a full-page ad in the New York Post acknowledging Senator Charles Schumer and others for their advocacy on our behalf.
