Details: The Grapes of Wrath will be the featured film for October in the 2014-2015 International Film Festival sponsored by the Maryknoll Fathers and Brothers. It will be shown Friday, October 17, 7:30 p.m. at the Maryknoll Mission Center, 55 Ryder Road in Ossining. Everyone is welcome and admission is free. The Grapes of Wrath is a 1940 U.S. film from director John Ford. The film is about a poor Midwest family forced off their land. They travel to California, suffering the misfortunes of the homeless in the Great Depression. The film festival provides nine monthly offerings on Friday evenings from September to April. The current series, Life through Death: In Black and White, includes an introduction by a Maryknoll missioner and a brief discussion after the screening.
