Details: This mass is being celebrated in commemoration of the tenth anniversary of the passing of Fernando Rielo, founder of the Idente Missionaries. His Eminence Edward Cardinal Egan, Archbishop Emeritus of New York, will preside at the annual commemorative Mass at St. Patrick's Cathedral Friday evening, December 5, at 8:00. All are welcome. Fernando Rielo founded the Idente Missionaries in Spain in 1959. He died in New York City on December 6, 2004. The institute was elevated to Pontifical Right by Pope Benedict XVI in July, 2009. The Idente Missionaries administer Our Lady of Solace-St. Dominic and Santa Maria Parishes in the Bronx, Our Lady of Loretto Parish in Hempstead, and St. Luke's Parish in Brentwood, as well as taking care of campus ministry at Polytechnic University and Nassau Community College, and directing the UTPL-NY, Inc., a cultural center for immigrants in Queens.
